Charlotte Morton OBE is the Chief Executive of the World Biogas Association (WBA), the global industry body dedicated to promoting the production and use of biogas and biomethane worldwide. A qualified solicitor by training, she practiced law for a decade before completing an MBA at London Business School and moving into the renewable energy sector.
In 2009, she helped establish the business operations of the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) in the UK and later became its Chief Executive, playing a key role in expanding the anaerobic digestion sector significantly. She was instrumental in founding the World Biogas Association in 2016 to accelerate the global adoption of biogas technologies and support climate, energy, and waste-management solutions.
In recognition of her contributions to the development of the biogas industry, Charlotte Morton was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
