Dr. Santanu Gupta
Dr. Santanu Gupta is currently serving as Director – Technical at the Global Biofuels Alliance, where he is actively contributing to advancing global collaboration and policy direction in the biofuels and energy transition space.
He is a seasoned energy sector professional with over three decades of experience across oil refining, fuel marketing, and clean energy initiatives. Prior to his current role, he served as Executive Director at Indian Oil Corporation, where he led several key national programmes, including ethanol blending, biodiesel, compressed biogas (SATAT), sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and waste-to-energy initiatives.
Dr. Gupta has also contributed to policy development as Member Secretary of the Energy Transition Advisory Committee under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. His areas of expertise include decarbonisation strategies, carbon footprint reduction, and integrated energy solutions.
He has represented India at various international forums on bioenergy and energy transition, with extensive global exposure across multiple regions.
